A refreshing Victorian-era classic
A "Daisy" is a category of cocktails from the 1870s – spirit, citrus, sweetener, and often soda. The Margarita is actually a tequila Daisy (margarita means "daisy" in Spanish).
Homemade grenadine (pomegranate juice reduced with sugar) is far superior to the artificial red syrup. Small Hand Foods makes an excellent bottled version.
The crushed ice is traditional and keeps this refreshing summer drink extra cold. Pack the glass full.
