☕ Hot Toddy

The ultimate cold-weather comfort cocktail

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Heat water until just below boiling (about 200°F / 93°C).
  2. Add honey to a heat-safe mug and pour in a splash of hot water. Stir to dissolve the honey.
  3. Add the bourbon and lemon juice.
  4. Top with the remaining hot water and stir gently.
  5. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, lemon wheel, and optional cloves.
  6. Let it cool slightly before sipping – enjoy it warm, not scalding.

Pro Tips

🌡️ Temperature Matters

Don't use boiling water – it will cook off the alcohol and make the drink taste flat. Aim for 200°F.

🍵 Tea Variation

Substitute the hot water with brewed black tea or chamomile for added complexity and warmth.

🤧 Grandma's Remedy

While not medically proven, hot toddies have been a folk remedy for colds for centuries. The warmth and honey certainly feel soothing!
