Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Place the sugar cube (or loose sugar) in a rocks glass.
  2. Add the Angostura bitters and a small splash of water to the sugar.
  3. Muddle until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Add a large ice cube or several smaller ice cubes to the glass.
  5. Pour the bourbon over the ice.
  6. Stir gently for about 30 seconds to chill and dilute slightly.
  7. Express the oil from the orange peel over the drink by holding it over the glass and giving it a good twist.
  8. Drop the orange peel into the glass and add the cherry.

🥃 Bourbon Selection

Choose a bourbon with at least 90 proof for the best flavor. Buffalo Trace, Maker's Mark, or Woodford Reserve work excellently.

🧊 Ice Matters

Use one large ice cube instead of several small ones. It melts slower and keeps your drink colder without diluting it too quickly.
