Boston's political cocktail from 1898

Ingredients

2 oz Bourbon whiskey (or rye)
½ oz Fresh lemon juice
½ oz Fresh orange juice
½ oz Grenadine (preferably homemade)
1 Maraschino cherry (for garnish)
1 Orange slice (for garnish)

Instructions

Add bourbon, lemon juice, orange juice, and grenadine to a shaker.
Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
Strain into a chilled coupe glass or over ice in a rocks glass.
Garnish with a maraschino cherry and orange slice.
