Instructions

  1. If using egg white, add it to a cocktail shaker first and dry shake (without ice) vigorously for 15 seconds to emulsify.
  2. Add the bourbon, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
  4. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice, or into a coupe glass without ice.
  5. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and an orange slice on a cocktail pick.
  6. Optionally, add a few drops of Angostura bitters on top of the foam for decoration.

Pro Tips

🍋 Fresh is Best

Always use freshly squeezed lemon juice. Bottled lemon juice has a noticeably different, inferior taste.

🥚 The Egg White

The egg white creates a silky, frothy texture. If you're concerned about raw egg, use pasteurized egg whites or aquafaba (chickpea water) as a vegan alternative.
