Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Rinse a chilled coupe glass with absinthe and discard excess.
  2. Add gin, Cointreau, Lillet, and lemon juice to a shaker.
  3. Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
  4. Double-strain into the prepared glass.
  5. Garnish with a lemon twist.

The 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book notes: "Four of these taken in swift succession will unrevive the corpse again." It's meant to be a morning drink – proceed accordingly.

🍷 Lillet Change

Original recipes called for Kina Lillet, which was reformulated (less quinine) and renamed Lillet Blanc in 1986. Some bartenders add a dash of Cocchi Americano to approximate the original.
