The grandfather of the Martini
🌿 19th Century ClassicFirst documented in Jerry Thomas's 1887 bartender's guide. It predates the dry Martini and shows how the Martini evolved from a sweeter, more complex drink.
Old Tom is a slightly sweeter style of gin that was common in the 1800s. Hayman's and Ransom make excellent versions. If unavailable, use London Dry with a barspoon of simple syrup.
