Gosling's actually trademarked "Dark 'n' Stormy" – technically, an authentic one requires Gosling's rum. Using other dark rums is perfectly fine, but purists insist on the original.

🌊 The Name

Named for the appearance when the dark rum is floated: it looks like a storm cloud over the golden ginger beer.
